Net Top Sites uses a combination of unique visitor hits and page hits to objectively rank Web site traffic. The more traffic you consistently get, the higher you will rank. We don't rank by number of votes received or comments posted though we do include these features just for the fun of it.

Ranking at Net Top Sites is recalculated over weekly time intervals so new sites can easily rank high. Each category has its own unique ranking. You choose which category to join which means you decide how much competition you want. If you want less competition, choose a more specific niche category. If you want more competition, choose a more general category. If you feel a new category is needed, please contact us and we will add it for you.

The rules are simple:

• You can add up to ten Web sites under your ID. Do not sign up a Web site that you do not own or have no control over. You must be able to edit your Web site code to add our tracker link.
• Sign up with a valid e-mail address or else you won't be able to validate your account.
• Each URL may be listed in one category only. You may change categories at any time through the Edit Panel.
• You must display the HTML tracking code on your Web site - it is used to rank and display your site. The more visitors that come here, the more visitors we can send to you!
• You can vote for Web sites and leave comments but they do not affect the ranking.
• Sites must be primarily in English.
• Any attempts at cheating will have you banned from the list. Please inform your employees of this policy.
• We do not accept sites that promote pornography, hate speech, racism, or illegal activities or material.
• While you are free to choose a general or more specific category for your Web site, we insist that there must be some relevant content to that category. Therefore, it would be okay for a knitting supply company to be listed in Knitting (specific category) or Crafts (general category) but not Sporting Goods. In order to maintain relevancy, we will move Web sites to appropriate categories when we deem necessary. If an appropriate category does not exist, we will create one for you.

Banners can be loaded when you join or at a later time on the Edit Panel. Maximum size is 468 pixels wide and 60 pixels high. Maximum file size is 61440 bytes. Upload your banner image in .gif, .jpg or .png format.
